Elin Jones, Ceredigion’s Plaid Cymru AM, has voiced the concerns of communities in south Ceredigion at the potential loss of the ‘Cardi Bach’ bus service.

In questions to the Economy and Transport Minister in the Senedd, Elin Jones raised the future of the service when the current European funding comes to an end in October.

Elin Jones, local AM for Ceredigion, said:

“The Cardi Bach is a very important service for many communities in south Ceredigion, and for tourism businesses – particularly those who are linked to the coastal path.

“I asked the Transport Minister to work with the local authority and any community groups who have an interest in helping to continue the service.

“She noted the positive partnership that has existed between Ceredigion Council and the Welsh Government in improving many aspects of rural transport recently, and promised to keep the Assembly updated on the latest moves to try to find a solution.

“We must leave no stone unturned to try to resolve this funding issue, and ensure that communities and businesses retain their public transport link.”
