Twice chaired bard Ceri Wyn Jones was given a celebratory homecoming with a special event at Cardigan Rugby Club on Friday evening.
Ceri, who won the chair for the second time at this year's National Eisteddfod in Llanelli, was saluted by fellow local bards in the evening organised by the town council.
He was presented with a crystal decanter by the mayor Cllr Graham Evans and a special trophy from Cadwgan Trust. Ceri's winning poem, Lloches, written under the pseudonym Cadwgan took its inspiration from Cardigan Castle. Cadwgan trustee Jean Jones presented Ceri with a trophy, created by Eurfyl Reed, consisting of an oak beam from Castle Green House and a stone from the castle itself.
The evening also celebrated the success of local choir Ar Ol Tri, who won the best male voice choir title at the National Eisteddfod for an unprecedented 11th time.
