Ceredigion Green Party has selected Daniel Thompson from Ffos-y-ffin to fight the Parliamentary seat of Ceredigion in the forthcoming General Election.

Daniel was born in Maidstone, Kent and at the age of three3 months moved with his family to West Wales.

Apart from four years studying for a Computer Science degree in Brighton University he has spent his whole life living and working in Ceredigion.

In 2002 he set up what has become a successful local computer business, It is still going strong and provides a valuable service to the local community. Daniel has also spent two years in partnership with friends running a local bike shop.

Daniel says, “I have always been interested in solving problems, whether they are big or small. For over 10 years I have been interested in the problem of debt based money and how it could be the root cause of many of our economic, social and environmental problems. I have taught myself economics and read tirelessly on the matter, working with groups such as Arian Cymru and Positive Money to bring the subject to public attention.”

Monetary reform is an issue that has always been very close to the heart of Greens. Daniel believes it would benefit the UK nationally and in particular it would benefit everyone who lives in Ceredigion. “I have trained with Positive Money to speak on the matter and the Green Party’s support of their proposals are what led me to join the party in 2013.”

Daniel has also worked to oppose the incursion of big business in to our democratic process by opposing issues such as the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and working with the Occupy movement to highlight these problems.

“I am looking forward to meeting the electors in Ceredigion and explaining the Green Party’s positive policies for creating a better and fairer society.”
