Newcastle Emlyn's dedicated Fair Trade shop Fair and Fabulous is launching a series of events promoting the principle of LOAF – Local, Organic and Fair Trade, to celebrate becoming a Fair Trade town

The first of these, to be held on Saturday, February 7, will showcase the products of an alliance of West Wales craft brewers.

Newcastle Emlyn was awarded Fair Trade town status in December 2014 after a concerted effort from a cross-section of people in the area, tirelessly led by Fair and Fabulous' Jill Sutton.

In order to build on this momentum, a series of events are planned throughout 2015. The LOAF days will be held monthly in the upstairs of the shop, a lovely bright space which is often hired out to local artists and workshop facilitators.

For the first event, the focus will be on local products. This is a unique opportunity to sample beers from several local brewers under one roof and will be the first outing for the recently formed WWBA (West Wales Brewers Alliance). The head brewer of the Handmade Beer Company, Ian Bowler, is looking forward to the opportunity to showcase the range and quality of beers available from small breweries in the area.

Fair and Fabulous is excited to welcome the WWBA for their first event, and will offer an opportunity for visitors to pick up a range of romantic Fair Trade gifts for Valentines Day.
