Ceredigion MP Mark Williams met with Head of PE at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi, Rob Evans, at an event in Parliament last week showcasing the innovative ‘School Gym’ programme which the school has introduced.
The School Gym equipment has transformed Cardigan’s old school gym into an exciting new physical education space for pupils at the school. This, combined with a health, fitness and wellbeing programme allows all children at the school to get involved in physical education, regardless of age, gender or physical ability.
Mark Williams said: "Cardigan school, one of only two schools in the country that uses this excellent ‘School Gym’ programme, and should be proud of the impact they are having on the health and wellbeing of their pupils. Experience has indicated that pupils are more engaged with physical education when using this programme, and it transforms the old classic school gym hall into a much more positive environment. I was particularly pleased that Cardigan was involved."
