Local fire crews were called to a spate of grass fires last week.

On Wednesday, March 18, Llandysul fire fighters were called to a two hectare grass fire at the top of Llanllwni Mountain. They arrived shortly after 4pm and spent more than an hour fighting the two hectare fire with beaters.

The following day crews were called to the mountain again, this time at 3pm. This time they spent just under an hour dealing with a half hectare grass fire, again using beaters.

On March 19 Newcastle Emlyn crew was called to a grass fire at Dan Hiroeth Road in Cwm Hiroeth. The fire was spread across two fields and firefighters spent about half an hour using beaters to control it.
