In the run-up to the recent launch of the Newport Good Neighbour scheme, local schoolchildren were asked to design a poster showing what being a good neighbour meant to them.

The competition was sponsored by local architect, John Bishop, and several children received prizes at the actual launch of the Good Neighbour scheme in Newport Memorial Hall.

There was also a competition for both adults and children to create a healthy lunch box. Sandra Bayes was the adult winner while Annabel and Polly Sykes won the children’s section.
