The cadets of the 1492 Cardigan and Aberporth Squadron are celebrating after they won ‘Overall Best Squadron’ at this year’s 3 Wing Athletics Competition.
This year the cadets competed against over 150 other cadets from 20 units across West Wales.
Commanding Officer Flt Lt Mark Davies and Staff spoke of how proud they were and want to congratulate every single cadet on their achievements.
The annual event brings together squadrons from across West Wales to compete in a variety of events such as the 1500m, 200m, 400m, discus, javelin and long jump.
With such great results, many of the squadron’s cadets have been selected to represent the Wing at the Inter Wing Athletics at RAF Cosford in their winning event.
The 1492 Cardigan Squadron meets every Friday from 6-9pm and offers fun and challenging opportunities to young people aged 12-18 years and there are also opportunities for adults to join by becoming volunteer instructors.
