COFFEE MORNING: The coffee morning in the Church Community Hall on Saturday, May 23 from 10.30am to noon will be hosted by The Emlyn Scout Group.

OPEN WEEKEND: The Cilgwyn Gardens, courtesy of Mr and Mrs Edward Fitzwilliams, will be open on Sunday and Monday, May 24 and 25 from 11am.

MOTHERS UNION: The Mother's Union will meet in the Church Community Hall at 7pm on Tuesday May 26. The speaker will be Carol Byrne Jones and her subject, “Growing up in Llandyfriog.”

TIVYSIDE OVER 50'S FRIENDSHIP CLUB: On Thursday, May 21 it is the ever popular “Bring and Buy Plant Sale for Members.” If you are interested in coming to the meetings, just come along to the Catholic Church Hall, Castle Street on a Thursday at 2.15pm and meet us. It only costs £1.50 which covers a raffle and refreshments. Any other information can be obtained by ringing Sally Field on 01239 711017.

AQUAROBICS: Classes are held at the Emlyn Swimming Pool on Monday lunchtimes from 12.30 to 1.30pm and on Tuesday evenings between 7 and 8pm, with an Aqua Boot Camp on Thursday evenings between 7 and 8pm.

NEWCASTLE EMLYN CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALIST CHURCH: The church meets at The Old Grammar School in Water Street in Newcastle Emlyn every Wednesday at 7.30pm followed by Spiritual Healing for those in need at no cost. Healing provided by Healer Practitioner Association International qualified and insured Healers. Refreshments are provided after the service and all Faiths are welcome.

VOLUNTEERS: The Royal Voluntary Service is calling on people in the Carmarthenshire area of Newcastle Emlyn to dedicate a couple of hours a week, a fortnight, or a month, to help with the local Meals on Wheels Service. The area covered is the Town and Capel Iwan and Tanglwst area. Please help the older people in the community live happy, healthy independent lives. COUNTRY MARKET: Come and see our wide range of crafts at the Country Market at the Football Clubhouse to the rear of the Mart Car Park. We are there every Friday morning from 9.30 - 12.30.

We have a large selection of plants for sale and hanks and balls of pure Shetland wool for crafting and knitting. We have a good range of home cooked items both savoury and sweet and you can sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake.. Remember to shop local and buy goods and home baking that has been produced in the Newcastle Emlyn area.

DEFIBRILLATORS: Do you know where these Cardiac Aids are sited in Newcastle Emlyn? There is one at the Plough Hotel, one in the Football Club and one at The Emlyn Arms Hotel. The Co-Responders are hoping to provide more aids especially where crowds of people gather.

POST OFFICE: The Post Office in Sycamore Street is moving across the road to G S News and will open on May 21, from 6am to 7.30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 6am to 5pm on Sundays.
