There is a fantastic new look to the Sunday programme at the PENfro Book Festival this year.

The literature event, now in its fifth year, will be held at Rhosygilwen, Cilgerran, from Friday, September 11 to Sunday 13.

A Literary Lunch will be the main focus of PENfro Sunday in Neuadd y Dderwen, the Oak Hall, with special guest award-winning poet and performer Jo Bell as the ‘after-dinner’ speaker.

Jo, who is also leading one of six workshops on PENfro Saturday, has been described by Poet Laureate and former PENfro headline guest Carol Ann Duffy as “one of the most exciting poets now writing”.

Formerly director of National Poetry Day and of the international online poetry workshop group 52, Jo is a well-known advocate for poetry across the UK. She’s a witty and outspoken speaker.

Jo's latest poetry collection ‘Kith’ was published by Nine Arches Press in May.

There will be a delicious Rhosygilwen Sunday lunch. There will be live music in the hall and you can take part in a Literary Quiz with a chance to win valuable prizes. Cost is £20. Note: the lunch must be booked in advance – see website.

A host of other writers feature in the 2015 PENfro programme from the Friday evening to the Sunday afternoon. Author of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Deborah Moggach is headlining on the Saturday evening.

There will be opportunities before and after lunch on the Sunday to meet a diverse range of writers and hear about their work at guest events on the site through the day, some of them free. There will be a stall for independents to sell their books (see website to book stall space) and a Poetry Corner in the courtyard for writers to busk their words through the day and to entertain festival goers.
