Chris Thomas and Dai Jones, two members of staff at the Cardigan branch of Wynnstay Group Plc, along with Lisa Thomas and Paul Butcher (Zoetis Animal Health) chose to run the JCP Swansea Half Marathon on Sunday 14 June to raise funds for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I) and the Wales Air Ambulance.

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I) was established back in 1860 to provide financial help to farmers in need. The charity’s work remains as relevant as ever 155-years on, giving out around £2m in grants in England and Wales last year.

Wynnstay has chosen R.A.B.I as one of their nominated charities for this year and their dedicated staff at Cardigan presented a cheque for £400 to Linda Jones, R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales.

The four runners managed to raise £800 in total, with £400 also being presented to the Wales Air Ambulance.

Linda Jones, R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, said: “We thoroughly appreciate the effort shown by Chris and Dai at Wynnstay, to undertake this half marathon, with hardly any running experience at all. It takes a great deal of courage to attempt a race of this kind and we would like to congratulate them on their success.”

Linda added: “We would like to thank Wynnstay for their continued support and the money raised will help us to support more farming families in need. This year, we have already given out more than £139k to support working farmers.”
