EGLWYSWRW School recently welcomed a special guest to help launch a new set of children’s books.
Ditectif Geiriau is a series for children aged 7-11, which has been specifically developed to expand children’s vocabulary and language knowledge as well as improving their reading skills.
As part of the launch, TV presenter, author and Wales’ Children’s Poet Laureate Anni Ll?n held a fun session for the children based on the content of the books.
Anni said: “Ditectif Geiriau is a fantastic pack of resources. The books include everything that teachers need to develop language and reading skills of children, and the series title – Ditectif Geiriau, is an amazing title that is sure to capture their imagination”.
The headteacher at Egwlyswrw School, Edryd Eynon said: “I am delighted that Canolfan Peniarth and Anni came here to Egwlyswrw to launch the series. I have been working with Canolfan Peniarth in the development process of the series, and it’s great to see the books now in my hand, printed and published. The series is a great resource to help us teachers raise reading standards as well as develop children’s language skills”.
