MEMBERS of the public are being invited to meet Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood when she visits Cardigan next week (Friday December 4).

The Party of Wales leader will be visiting Cardigan on Friday, December 4, as part of her national tour to meet local communities and talk about ‘What Next for Wales’.

She will host an informal Question and Answer session, alongside local Ceredigion AM Elin Jones, at the Fisherman’s Rest café in Quay Street at 3pm on Friday.

The tour is aimed at encouraging a 'discussion of the choices facing Wales' at the next National Assembly elections that take place in May.

People are being asked to contribute ideas for what they would like to see Plaid Cymru campaigning for.

Ms Wood said she was looking forward to visiting Cardigan.

"These events are an excellent opportunity to discuss ideas for the future," she said. "Like many communities in Wales, Cardigan has potential; but we need to make sure that the next Welsh Government helps our town centres to thrive, and ensures that quality public services are close at hand when people need them.

"I look forward to a lively discussion over a cuppa at the Fisherman’s Rest."

The tour has already taken in venues from Llanfairfechan and Wrexham to Tenby and Bedwas.

Ceredigion AM Elin Jones said: "People are facing a real choice next year between a Labour government which has run out of steam and too often doesn’t look beyond the M4 corridor, or new ideas with Plaid.

"These meetings are a chance for us to see what people think of our ideas on improving the NHS and boosting small businesses, and for us to listen to what matters to people in our communities."
