Football fans in Cardigan joined the town's fanzone ready for the highly anticipated semi-final match against Portugal in the Euro 2016.

The fanzone at the Cardigan Guildhall was organised by Mark Cole and saw families and friends turn out to support the Welsh team.

Wales played Portugal in the semi-final with the match ending 2-0 to Portugal which left Wales knocked out of the competition.

But spirits in the fanzone were not dampened by the loss; as the national pride for the team getting so far in the Euro 2016 shone through.

The crowd of people cheered and applauded the team even after the final minute.

Mark Cole commented: "This was a historical moment for Wales. We were not supposed to get this far and I am so proud of the Welsh team for achieving this. The players in this team will go down in not just in Welsh but British History.

"Let's continue to celebrate for what the boys did for our country."
