TWO Ceredigion girls who are members of Girlguiding Cymru took to the Royal Welsh Show to inspire more girls to get involved.

Helen Walker, 15 and Angharad James, 16 who are members of the 2nd Ceredigion Guides attended the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells.

They were a part of the girl-only Girlguiding Cymru volunteer team at the Show, speaking to the public about their guiding experiences in the rest tent, stewarding at the shows, exploring backstage areas and even being trusted to act as runners for the Judges’ Office.

The Royal Welsh Show, with an annual attendance of nearly a quarter of a million people, is the perfect opportunity for the girls to spread the word about their guiding experiences and encourage others to join.

Girlguiding Cymru’s Chief Commissioner, Lesley Mathews said: “It’s fantastic to be a part of the Royal Welsh Show with so many members from across Wales coming together. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our girls to experience such an important part of our Welsh Culture. It was great to see the girls really enjoying themselves, making new friends and promoting Girlguiding in Wales.”
