THERE was an outstanding turn-out as Alpet Poundies Rescue’s Fun Dog Show raised much-needed funds for the rescue centre based near Llandysul.

The event was held at Barker’s Dog Daycare and Home Boarding, near Ffostrasol, and over three people attended with 243 entries in the 12 show classes.

Judge Sue Owen said: “I don’t see this many in some of the Championship shows!”

The event - which raised £2,834 for the centre - was organised by rescue volunteers with the venue hosts, judge and photographer all providing their services free of charge.

Linda White, who runs Alpet Poundies Rescue, was delighted.

“I can't thank everyone enough for all the work they put into it,” she said. “With increasing costs and the enormous vet bills we have this year, the money will make a real difference to us.”
