A Cardigan woman who was caught behind the wheel whilst under the influence of cannabis has been banned from driving.

KIRSTY DAVIS, 31, of Ridgeway in Cardigan, was stopped on the A489 Newtown bypass on March 13 last year.

When tested, Davis recorded 4.2 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol – or cannabis – in her blood. The legal limit is two.

She pleaded guilty, and was fined £120 at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on May 22. She must also pay £85 in costs and a £34 surcharge, and was banned from driving for a year.

JONAH SEARBY, 44, of Drury Lane in Aberaeron, was caught speeding in a variable speed limit section of the M4.

Searby was driving at 60mph on the eastbound M4 between junctions 20 and 19 while a 40mph limit was in place on November 11 last year.

He pleaded guilty at Bath Magistrates’ Court on June 13, and was fined £220. Searby must also pay £90 in costs and an £88 surcharge, and was hit with five penalty points.
