The students of Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi have been celebrating outstanding A Level results.

At A Level, 27% of students achieved at least 3 A Levels at A*/A grades, and 82% achieved at least 3 A Levels at grades A*-C.

Some of the top performers include Lowri Morris, A*A*A*A* who will study Medicine at Imperial College, London; Kian Reed, A*A*A*A* who will study Pharmacy at Cardiff University; and Michael Wilcox, A*A*A*A who is undertaking humanitarian work overseas next year.

]Raphael Caldwell, A*A*A* will study Mechanical Engineering at Manchester University; Liberty Grota, A*A*A*A will study Applied Psychology at the University of Wales Trinity St David; and Millie Crowe, A*AA will study Astrophysics at Cardiff University.

Molly Crombie AABB will study History at Cardiff University; Moli Crosby, A*ABB will study English at Cardiff University; Dillon Reed, ABBC will study Biochemistry at Cardiff University; Fflur Williams ABBD is taking a gap year and Jack Stedman, ABBD will study Plant Biology at the University of Nottingham.

At AS Level, the top performers were Daisy Davies, AAAA Harri Davies, AAAA; Teifion Hunting-Morris AAAA; Talfan Hyett AAAA; Iona Sellwood, AAAA; Lucy Holmes AAAB; Oliver Kimber AAAB; Amy Sibley AAA and Sariah Wilcox AAA.

Headteacher Nicola James said: “We are extremely proud of the achievements of all our students.

"These outcomes reflect the hard work of the students, the dedication of the school staff and the support and encouragement of parents and carers.

"We congratulate all our students, and we wish them every success and happiness as they embark on the next chapter, whether they are going to university, beginning a college course, an apprenticeship, or venturing into the world of work.”

The A Level examination results published today by the WJEC indicate that high standards are being achieved in Ceredigion schools.

Some 99.1% of entries for WJEC examinations were graded A*-E; 82.5% achieved A*-C grades; 61.4% were graded A*-B and 37.5% of the entries achieved the top ‘A-A*’ grades.

Whatever path they choose to take, I wish them well for the future.”
