THESE defendants from Ceredigion have appeared at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court recently. 

The trio were charged with offences including criminal damage, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

CHARLENE MUGGRIDGE, 38, of Hengell Uchaf in New Quay, damaged security glass at The Royal Pier Nightclub in Aberystwyth.

Muggridge was accused of causing £510 of damage to the two panes of security glass at the nightclub on March 12.

She admitted a charge of criminal damage at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court.

Muggridge was sentenced to a six-month conditional discharge, and must pay £510 in compensation, along with £85 in costs and a £26 surcharge.

BARRY PHILLIPS, 48, of Aberarth, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence.

The offence is alleged to have committed against a woman and was said to have taken place in Aberarth on June 2.

Phillips pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court.

He was made the subject of a one-year community order, as part of which she must complete 80 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay £85 in costs

JOSEPH OWEN, 39, of Bridge Street in Cardigan, was the driver of a vehicle and refused to provide a specimen when required by police.

Owen was charged with failure to provide a specimen for analysis on April 29.

He pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court.

Owen was fined £200, and must pay £250 costs and an £80 surcharge. He was also banned from driving for a year.
