The Theatr Mwldan Film Society is set to screen Nigerian film 'Mami Wata' on March 24 at 6.45pm as part of the WOW Wales One World Film Festival.
The film by C.J. ‘Fiery’ Obasi explores a tale of spiritual conflict where a village denying modernity, clings to the allure of the water deity, Mami Wata.
Described as Nigeria's black-and-white Oscar entry for 2024, the film portrays a captivating narrative coupled with evocative imagery.
The Film Society is a local charity that has, for over 25 years, curated a reel of exceptional movies, spanning world cinema to British independent films.
The aim has been to provide West Wales audiences access to meaningful cinema experiences on the big screen.
Screenings occur twice a month, except December, from September to April with a total of 15 films.
Different membership options are available including an Annual Full Membership, TicketSaver membership and a Young Person's Annual Full Membership, in addition to opening individual screenings at standard cinema ticket prices.
Seats are based on a first come first serve basis, so early booking is recommended.
