Ceredigion residents wanting to learn more about BT's digital landlines can do so at pop up events.

BT is hosting these events as part of their move towards digital services by 2025, in response to growing modern requirements.

These contact sessions will present an opportunity to discuss any queries or concerns about the impending network changes.

As part of the broader industry transition, BT, alongside other providers, is switching from the outdated analogue network most home phones currently rely on to their 'Digital Voice'.

This new system is set to offer a host of benefits including more robust blocking of spam callers, targeted at meeting the technological demands of today and tomorrow.

The firm has reassured customers that the transition to digital phone lines will have minimal impact on the usual use of home phones.

Service, price plans and bills will remain unaffected.

They have also pledged to provide easy-to-follow instructions to customers when the time to switch over approaches.

BT has confirmed three events scheduled for Ceredigion, with no booking required.

At these events, a broadband crew will be available to shed more light on the 'Digital Voice' and what it signifies for customers.

The first event will take place at Aberystwyth Library, Town Hall on April 19, from 10am-2pm.

The second is slated for Cardigan Library, on April 25 and 26, from 10am-4pm.

There's an engagement vehicle scheduled for Co-op Lampeter on April 29 from 10am-4pm.

A Ceredigion County Council spokesperson explained the importance of these sessions, saying: "Everyone with any questions on the switch from landline to digital should try to attend these engagement events.

"It’s great that they have been set up specifically for Ceredigion residents and businesses.

"BT staff will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns that people may have regarding the switch, including timeframes, and what residents need to do to ensure their services remain unaffected."

For further queries or detailed information about the transition, one can email: digidol@ceredigion.gov.uk or visit the UK Government or BT's website pages for the digital switch.
