The New Quay Downhill is back for its fourth year . Promising to be bigger and better than before ! Its certainly built up a reputation for being a great way to blow off steam at the end of race season .Organised by Si “the pirate”Williams and MIJ Downhill , its a good excuse to meet friends, party and then race, before winter sets in !

This will be the 4th year for this annual event held here in the fishing village of New Quay.It is a unique event in the way that it half on and half off the roads, with a mix of downhill as we know it and fast tarmac down small lanes, so tyre choice willl be interesting !The start is high above the town looking out across Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia beyond . There are not many start gates with a view like this one ! The top section is the “off road “bit of the route , with drops and fast berms leading to stepdowns ,stepups and tables .

The riders will then hit the small lanes and tiny streets of the town . Speeds will increase to an eye watering level as you wind you'r way through the route , jumping a few tables , kickers and a tricky set of steps along the way . The finish comes after a final tabletop and a spectacular end above the harbour .

The town Of New Quay famous for Dylan Thomas and the Bottlenose Dolphins has some lovely eating houses and pubs keep you all happy . There will be a spectacular Firework Show on the Saturday evening followed by live music and a “pre race” [Cedric Gracia style ! ] around the pubs .A real festival atmosphere and great time for all !

This event on the 1st and 2nd November 2014 is the season ender for MIJ Downhill Events , so its going to have the usual relaxed feel , but with some blistering hot racing !!
