The Davies family of Ponthirwaun, Newcastle Emlyn finished the 2014 season with an unforgettable presentation evening at the Oxford Belfrey Hotel, Oxford. The ' Nora Mx British Quad Championship' presentation saw quad bike competitors from Wales, England and abroad.

Father, Ed Davies was awarded the Championship trophy in the Master Class, eldest son Dafydd (15), won the 250cc MOD 2014 Quad Championship; his nine year old brother Aled won the 50cc class and sister Catrin,12 years old, was second in the 150cc class and was awarded the Lady Rider of the Year Award. This Award is presented for the best lady rider throughout the season, and Catrin beat off stiff competition from adult lady riders from across Europe.

' I'm very proud' explained their father, Ed. ' Everyone does their best over the season and the results then come. The awards are the icing on the top and it's a huge accolade.'

And mum Carol agreed: ' Catrin was absolutely stunned. It was unexpected. She thought her friend was going to win it, and any award on top of what you have won is a bonus.'

The family will fly the flag for Wales by starting the 2015 season competing in Mepal near Peterborough for the first round of the British Championship in two weeks time. Dafydd will move on to the 450cc bikes and will compete against adults; Catrin will move on to the 250cc with Aled moving up a class to the 100cc quad bike class.
