Over 60 students took part in the KUGB Wales Championships where they won big.

The group of students from Tekki RS clubs from Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, Cardiff, Newcastle Emlyn and Llandysul competed in the most prestigious event on the Wales Calendar.

The competition was intense with an exceptionally high standard throughout, with clubs attending from all over Wales.

Nineteen students from Tekki RS achieved medals and their place on the podium. The club also gained three new Welsh Champions.

Erin Davies from Aberystwyth achieved three golds in her individual events (under 11yrs kata, ippon kumite and kumite) which resulted in being awarded the Best Under 16 year old competitor.

Jess Palmer from Cardiff gained first place for Ladies Kata and Connor Rees from Newcastle Emlyn also achieved gold for 10-11yrs Boys Kumite.

With the remaining medallists positions, the club accrued enough points to be awarded the title of Best Club in Wales 2015, with the help from students Owen Topham, Thomas Nelson, Bethany Nelson, Harriet Roper, Charlie Roper, Sasha Tonks, Rodrigo Laing, Mark Leggett, Hannah Rees, Menna Williams, Lily Rees, Alex Dunbar, Calum Moorby, Cai Langstaff, Cai Jones and Stef Rees.
