FOUR Dyffryn Teifi School pupils are attending the 23rd World Jamboree in Japan.

Nia Lewis, Myfanwy Davies, Nia Jardine and Sioned Bryant are members of the 1st Llandysul Scout Group and have been selected to attend the Jamboree, hailed as the most important Scout camp and there is.

The girls will spend two days in Tokyo, 12 camping and three days living with a Japanese family.

They will be leaving, along with 2,000 other Scout members from around Britain in the next few days and the 36 strong South Wales unit will meet up with 10 Scouts from the earthquake of Nepal (and their unit has raised all the money required for them to attend).

These four Explorer Scouts, who are nervous and excited for their journey of a lifetime, wish to thank the Llandysul Community for their support over the past 18 months of fundraising, the various organisations, Llandysul Community Council, the Freemasons and the all personal donations from within the group.

"The continuing financial support for all the young people of the 1st Llandysul Scout Group is amazing; five other Explorer Scouts, along with Lawrence their leader are to join a small Teifi District Group to be part of a Jamboree in Holland. These people will sell Wales to the World," explained Group Administrator, Marion Bryant.
