TWO local teenagers have returned from Spain after representing Wales at the Atlantic Games.

Lowri Davies, 15, from Cardigan and Dafydd Nicholls, 16, from Cilgerran, were recently selected for the Welsh Junior Under 19s Surf Lifesaving Team.

Both have been faithful members of Poppit Sands Surf Lifesaving Club since the age of eight and have competed for their club regionally and at a national level.

They are the first members from Poppit to have been picked for the Welsh team for over 20 years and were selected after attending a rankings event at Aberavon last May.

The Junior Welsh Team travelled to Orio Zarautz in Spain for the Atlantic Games and competed over three days against teams from Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland and England.

Wales had a very successful competition and were crowned champions of the Surf Living Saving events at the 2015 games.

Dafydd and Lowri would like to say a big thank you to Poppit Sands for their support and also to local businesses and organisations who very kindly supported them.
