EVERYTHING is very much up in the air as regards the format of the Costcutter Football League for the forthcoming season.

At the league AGM last week long-serving secretary Geraint Davies suggested two divisions and a reserves cup competition based on current teams.

He proposed a first division comprising Cardigan Town, Lampeter Town, Llandysul, Bargod Rangers, Newcastle Emlyn, St Dogmaels, Crannog, Aberaeron Reserves, Felinfach, New Quay, Cilgerran Rovers and Dewi Stars.

There would be a second division of Aberporth, Pencader, Ffostrasol, Maesglas, Llanboidy and SDUC to play each other four times during the season.

The Reserves Cup of 11 would comprise St Dogmaels, Llandysul, Cardigan, Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn, Llanboidy, Bargod, Crannog, Felinfach and Ffostrasol.

With clubs starting training for the new season many felt that at this stage they could not say with certainty if there was sufficient interest to enter reserve teams.

It was decided to hold another general meeting next Tuesday (July 26) to make a hard and fast decision on the format.

There were no new clubs wishing to join the league.
