PLAYERS and supporters in New Quay have rallied round in bid to save the club.

The prolific winners of many major titles since the early 1960s informed the Costcutter League AGM earlier this month that it was pulling out due to lack of players.

It was major blow to the league by a team that had claimed a hat-trick of Division One titles between 2010 and 2012 as well as other silverware.

According to the league the club formally withdrew and their move was accepted.

But after an appeal by New Quay for players to rally round, a series of training sessions have been held and a spokesman told the Tivy-Side it was virtually certain that the club would be active during the forthcoming season.

The league spokesperson said all efforts would be made to accommodate the Seasiders and it would be great news for everyone if the club is saved from extinction.
